Doctor of Athletic Training Program | Moravian College

Hi, I’m Dr Jennifer Ostrowski And I’m the director of Moravian College’s Doctor of Athletic Training program. The Doctor of Athletic Training program at Moravian College is the college’s first-ever doctoral program and first fully online program in the college’s 275 year history The program is a 60-credit post professional doctoral program that’s designed for certified, licensed athletic trainers who are practicing clinically and are looking to come back and improve their practice or to become leaders within the profession. The program is delivered primarily online with asynchronous learning and does involve a one-week summer institute each summer in July. The Summer Institute involves 40 hours of hands-on practice with some of the skills that you learned in an online forum during the semester and we bring in the nationally recognized faculty that Aae teaching within the online environment as well as other nationally-recognized experts in that content area. The program is designed with the full-time working athletic trainer in mind You can go full-time or part-time and you can also start the program whenever you’re ready We have three start dates so you can start summer, fall, and spring so whenever you’re ready to come back we’re ready to take you. Athletic trainers who are local to Lehigh Valley and who are employed by St Luke’s University Health Network or Lehigh Valley Health Network can also benefit from the tuition discount that we offer as long. As you’re certified practicing athletic trainer you’re eligible for enrollment in the program You do not need a Master’s degree in order to enroll in Moravian’s Doctor of Athletic Training program Also, if you have a Master’s degree and your graduate GPA was a 3.2 or above you do not need to submit GRE scores. Coming back to school can be scary no matter what point of life that you’re at and we know that, so we’ve designed our program with two self-paced on-demand courses that you take when you’re first admitted into the program which gets you up to speed on both foundational content for the program as well as technology that’s required for an online program and you work through those courses at your own pace So we also have a student experience mentor who’s dedicated to the rehabilitation science department who can work with you on financial aid as well as navigating the application process
